Scansa Construction was awarded, as general contractor, new construction of a two‐story Daycare facility building. The building has 11 classrooms with 19,000 sq ft total floor area. It has a commercial kitchen for on-site meal services offered to children and parents for Preschool, Toddler, and Infant Care to a 198 children with 32 staff occupancy. Construction on the building began in June of 2021 and is located at 2620 Mica Place in Langford, BC. A standard wood structure on a concrete foundation, Scansa Construction is also self‐performing the cast‐in‐place concrete and civil works for the project.
Subcontractors have been hired to complete the building framing, envelope, drywall, painting, vinyl flooring, accessibility elevator and the electrical & mechanical systems.
