Scansa Construction was awarded the construction management for construction of a compressed natural gas (CNG) repair garage and part sales warehouse building. Construction on the building, which is a mixture of pre-engineered steel with a wood/steel framed two storey building for parts storage and administrative offices, was completed in December of 2016.
This new development, located at 2095 Millstream Road in Langford, BC, serves as the premier truck service center on Vancouver Island with the most advanced technologies seen in the field of heavy duty mechanic shops to date. The building has a gross floor area of approximately 1,366 square meters.
Scansa Construction was also responsible for all excavation, underground utilities, backfill, paving, curbs and gutters. Subcontractors were hired to complete the wood framing, building envelope, drywall, painting, flooring, and millwork. Electrical & mechanical systems including fire alarm, gas detection, as well as gas distribution and compressed air systems were also incorporated. Once all work was completed Irrigation and landscaping was added the entrance way and surrounding property.
