(Tilt up Construction)

Scansa, as a subcontractor, recently completed a concrete formwork and concrete placing tilt-up construction project for Beedie Construction in Langford.

Tilt-Up construction is easily explained as a series of concrete panels tilted up into place to form a building’s exterior wall. These panels are created typically on the work site using formwork (either wood or steel), reinforcing steel and concrete. The forms are built to match the architectural design and once complete concrete is poured into the forms and finished. When the panels have cured they are ready to be tilted into vertical position and set on foundational footings where they form the exterior structure of the building. Each panel is temporarily braced until the roof ties the structure together.

Our work, valued at $3.5M, spanned two separate warehouse buildings and included all the construction of 209 tilt up panels, concrete pumping, placing and finishing of all slab on grades and tilt up panels.

Construction completed October 2023.

Construction commenced November 2022 through to October 2023.
