Leigh Road Interchange
The Leigh Road Interchange –Phase 2 project was jointly funded by the City of Langford and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, the key driving factors for the final phase of the Leigh Rd Interchange improvement project was to provide a Southbound exit from the Trans- Canada-Highway to Leigh Rd, close off the exits to Goldstream Avenue at the Trans-Canada- Highway and provide a new Southbound acceleration lane at the West Shore Parkway. Scansa Construction Ltd. was awarded the ITQ construction contract for the Clearing and Grubbing
phase in March of 2015. The Leigh Road Interchange Phase 2 – SW Ramp and Associated Road works contract was awarded to Scansa by the City of Langford on July 23, 2015. The project required major earthworks, including approximately 18,000m3 of rock removal, 18,000m3 of rock embankment construction, 22,000m3 of stripping and unsuitable soil removal, drainage, concrete barrier, paving, signing and pavement markings constructed to MoTI and CoL specifications. Other project improvements include parking improvements on Goldstream Avenue, signalization modifications for the southbound exit ramp and West Shore Parkway Intersections plus lighting improvements from West Shore Parkway acceleration lane and new
parking area on Goldstream Avenue.
