The Olympic View Phase 2 Earthworks project stands as a testament to Scansa's commitment to excellence in civil construction. This massive earthworks endeavor, located in Olympic View, covers an extensive area of 40,000 square meters and lays the foundation for seventy-one one- acre lots and two substantial multifamily dwellings.
The project bulked out over 56,000 cubic meters of unsuitable material, and structurally placed and compacted 40,000 cubic meters of engineered structural fill. 30,000 cubic meters of solid bedrock was blasted, removed, crushed and repurposed onsite. The project included green space infusions with 26,000 square meters of engineered designed park build upon 20,000 cubic meters of park engineered fill, with plans for a future playground.
The project including enhancing safety and the community with a shoulder extension that striped and broke out mass bedrock along Latoria Road. Allowing Scansa to implement a more robust storm drainage system, bike lane construction, and a pedestrian controlled crosswalk equipped with signs, poles and flashers.
250 square meters of aesthetically textured Redi-Rock blocks creating a fortified yet appealing retaining wall built with 460 Rei-Rock blocks. A stepped Flex MSE vegetated wall system was constructed to enhance the natural esthetic of some shear lined lots. This second-generation technology allows for construction of a permanent slope while creating a fully vegetated wall
face. No concrete, no rebar, just fully a fully stabilized, engineered, naturally vegetated wall.
Over a thousand cubic meters of rock face was precisely shear lined to create unique lots in this one-of-a-kind land development. All 73 lots are acutely etched out of a naturally forested habitat, where future homes will be nestled into a natural thriving green space that feels more like a forest retreat.
